Du North Leggings Review*

I love to wear leggings but I had never tried patterned leggings, so when Du North contacted me and asked if I wanted to review some I thought why not!! It seems ages since I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and tried something new!!

They are a Canadian company whose motto is 'Life's Too Short To Wear Boring Clothes'! Now this is a sentiment that I totally agree with and the older I get the more I find myself experimenting with fashion.

When the leggings arrived I must admit at first I was concerned they wouldn't fit as they looked on the smaller side. I tried them on to discover they were super stretchy and fitted me quite comfortably, and despite the stretch the pattern stays strong as the material is so thick. I must admit these are the softest leggings I have ever owned and once I put them on I kept stroking my legs!!! They will be ideal for colder winter days when standard leggings are too thin to keep you warm.

The print is really colourful so I teamed them with my plain black t-shirt dress from New Look as it made them really pop. Du North were also kind enough to send me a scarf which if you know me you know I love a good scarf! This one is an infinity scarf so I wear it looped round and it has moustaches on it!!! It was a lovely surprise to receive the scarf as well.

What can I say I think I may have been converted to patterned leggings!!

Lavitta Rose Print Wrap Dress Review*

If you have been a long time reader of my blog you will know by now that I am a sucker for a pretty dress, so when the lovely people at Lavitta contacted me to see if I wanted to review something I of course headed straight to the dresses!

I will admit that they weren't a brand I was familiar with, but they sell clothing in sizes 12-24 and I would say it is aimed at the more mature market. I had a good mooch around and was instantly drawn to the Pink Rose Print Wrap Dress. I do love wrap dresses as they work well on my large bust and give a glimpse of cleavage but are still modest enough for work.

Since receiving this dress I have worn it to work with black tights and my brogues and the response once from my colleagues was fab, they loved it and I felt really comfortable all day. It is a good stretchy fabric and I find it skims rather than clings to me I could have tried a size smaller but I feel it may have been too clingy over my tummy so the 24 is perfect. There is loads of room for my bust and I don't need to pop a cami underneath for modesty as it closes across and hides my bra with just a hint of cleavage.

The length for me is also ideal (I'm 5' 4") and it sits below my knee so if you are a bit taller than me it won't be too short.

At £35 I think this dress is fantastic value it feels well made the print is beautiful and the fit is perfect.

Make sure you head over to Lavitta!

Magic Accessories Necklace Review*

I always buy a poppy each year for Remembrance Day in fact I remember watching my Grandma put the poppies together when I was small, so I was thrilled when the lovely people at Magic Accessories asked if I would like to review something from their Poppy Range.

Not only are the pieces beautiful but for each one that is sold 10% will be donated to the Royal British Legion.

After looking through the range I decided to try the Poppy Necklace as I am quite the fan of bold statement pieces.

So here it is....

For me the chain is the perfect length (sometimes I find them too short) and I love the vibrant colours of the pendant and there are also earrings and a brooch in the range.

If would like to add something from the Poppy Range to your jewellery collection I have an exclusive discount code NIKKI25 which will give you 25% off this range until 15th November just apply the code at the checkout.

Curve Fashion Festival OOTD

Hello and happy Friday I thought today I would share with you my OOTD from the Curve Fashion Festival, you can read about my day here.

I had planned to wear one of the dresses I already own but ended up panic buying a dress from New Look on the Friday after work! I decided I needed something comfortable to wear as I was travelling by train and I knew I would be on my feet a lot.

I spotted this t-shirt dress in New Look and loved it instantly I did size up as it is a shift style and I like a bit of room when I sit down. It is a lovely thick jersey and I felt really comfy all day. This is a slightly altered version of the outfit as on the day I wore tights and my New Balance trainers but it is warm today so I opted for leggings instead.

Taken at the Curve Fashion Festival

It is unusual for me to wear black head to toe I normally like colourful outfits but I thought it made a change and I liked the sport luxe feel to it. I can see me getting loads of wear out of this over the coming months as it is thick enough to keep me warm through the colder months.
