Introducing Thigh Society*

With the warmer summer months comes the problem of the dreaded chub rub which I never look forward to and I am always looking for ways to combat it!!

I love to wear my dresses in the summer so when the lovely people at Thigh Society contacted me to ask if I wanted to try a pair of Anti-Chafing Shorts* I jumped at the chance!

They currently have two different styles to choose from and advised that I should try the high rise short which has a slightly longer fit in the leg and a higher fitting waistband. This is ideal for me as the waist band comes up high (nearly to my bra) so it covers my tummy comfortably and doesn't roll down.
Bearing in mind that I'm 5'4" the longer version came to above my knee so ideal for wearing with my dresses as most of them are either on my knee or below so they cover the shorts completely.

When I first received them I was struck by how soft they are in fact when I put them on I kept stroking my legs as they felt so soft!!! They are lovely and lightweight which is great because lets be honest when the temperature rises I don't need heavy layers which will make me sweat

What really sets these apart is the use of Sorbtek technology to move moisture away from your skin quickly so you don't feel any discomfort.

In terms of size I tried the XL/2XL and they are spot on, (please note the sizing on the site is US sizing so keep that in mind if you fancy ordering a pair) the material is super stretchy so it doesn't dig into your skin but still stays put when you move. I decided to try the nude material as a lot of my summer dresses are lighter in colour but you can also get these in black as well.

I would even consider trying them under closer fitting clothes as there are no seams apart from the ones that run along your inner thigh (but they don't scratch) so you get no VPL and they are close fitting.

My verdict on these.... quite honestly I love them I think I may have finally found the ideal comfort shorts for me that will see me through the summer (well lets hope the sun comes back out again in the UK!!). Goodbye chub rub hello comfortable summer fun!!

If you like the look of these then head over to Thigh Society and a grab a pair!

OMCZ Bare Arms/Cold Shoulders

Hello and welcome to this months OMCZ and the topic for today is arms/cold shoulders!

I think its fair to say that a lot of people still struggle with having their arms on show, rewind three years ago before I started blogging and I was one of those people!

I would always hide my arms away in cardigans or only choose tops with sleeves as I felt uncomfortable showing my upper arms. I look back now and wonder why I felt like this as whenever I leave the house in a dress or top with my arms on display the world doesn't end and no one seems to notice!

I apologise as due to awful weather here in the UK I have struggled to do outfit photos this week so I am cheating with some outfits that have been featured before.

So ladies get those arms out and enjoy feeling the sun on your skin this summer!

Don't forget to check the other beauts also taking part

Style XL 2015

So last Saturday I was lucky enough to attend Style XL which is the only Midlands based plus size fashion event. It is organised by the lovely Leah from Leah XL and was a truly fantastic day.

Leah really had poured her heart and soul into this event and I was so happy to see how many people came along on the day and enjoyed themselves.

For me it meant the chance to catch up with lots of my fellow blogger babes and get the chance to finally meet others!!

There were plenty of brands in attendance and I did end up buying a dress for £20 from Scarlett and Jo as they were selling off designs that were either no longer being made or pieces that didn't get put into production.

The catwalks throughout the day were fantastic with the ladies and gents really going for it!

I also had a bra fitting courtesy of the lovely ladies at Curvy Kate and bagged a bra for £15!!!

Talking of boobs I also got to meet the gorgeous Caroline from Curvy Wordy and headed off to her room for a bra trying on session!! Needless to say new bras are going to be ordered soon!

Some pictures from the day....

Having fun with the Bon Prix speech bubble (I won a goodie bag for this).

Trying out my selfie stick with the gorgeous Becky from Does My Blog Make Me Look Fat!

Reunited with the awesome Kathryn from Miss Kathryn's Misstakes after two long years!!

Tanya from Secret Plus Size Goddess and her amazing cleavage!!!!

Kathryn and Kate at the after party!

Boobs!!!
Tanya, Becky and Caroline Curvy Wordy.

The after party on the Saturday night was also fab with entertainment and of course the final of Model XL. A huge well done to Sarah from Plus Size and Proud for winning two awards we are all so proud of you.

Sadly I was so tired after Saturday that I didn't attend any of the workshops on the Sunday but I heard that they were very good.

It just leaves me to say a few thank you's....

Leah, Claire and Leah's mum Rhona for all their hard work and dedication without which this event would never have happened.

The brands for coming along and being so lovely and friendly especially the Curvy Kate ladies as they were very busy all day!!

The plus size blogging community which I am so proud to be a part of, it was lovely to see everyone and to be surrounded by so many awesome women!

If you haven't already I have also done a YouTube video of the day which is below if you want to have a look.

I hope it won't be too long before I get to see everyone again as I miss you all already!

PS I should also point out that after filming this video I got sunburn whilst watching my son in his school sports day as I forgot to heed my own advice about sun tan lotion and missed parts of my neck!!!

Rock the Crop

Over the last day or so I have seen the fall out from an article in O Magazine stating that unless you have a flat stomach then crop tops are a no no! I am quite frankly fed up of being told what I can and can't wear as I'm sure most other women are as well. As someone who is a size 22-24 I do own a couple of crop tops (both old Primark boyfriend ones) so I decided to chuck one and see if the world ended!! - (newsflash it didn't!).

Here I am with my VBO out in all its glory and the world is still turning so no harm done! It's time for these kind of articles to stop, we all the have the right to choose how we dress. OK so wearing a crop top isn't everyone's cup of tea but no one has the right to tell you how to dress.

If you like something and wearing it makes you happy then go right ahead and wear it!

Whiter Shade of Pale OOTD

Hello I'm back and recovered from my horrible cold so that means outfit time!!

I have been desperate to share this dress with you all since I bought back in January in the New Look Sale but I needed the weather to get warm which it most certainly has!!

Lovedrobe White Summer Dress size 24

I spotted this Lovedrobe dress in the sale just after Christmas reduced from £38 to £12 so snapped it up and popped it away in my wardrobe. Before I could wear it I had to invest in a slip to go underneath as it is unlined and totally see through!!! I'll be honest if I had paid full price I would have been annoyed at the lack of lining. I picked up a cheap slip from Ebay which has done the trick as lets be honest the world doesn't need to see my pants!!

Due to the bright sunlight I have struggled to get the pattern on the neckline to show in the photos but it is really beautiful embroidery. I have loved wearing this dress on the warmer days this week as it is so light and airy so it kept me really cool and comfortable.

As I bought it earlier this year sadly it is no longer online but try Ebay as you never know one may pop up on there!

I hope you have all enjoyed the warmer weather (I was stuck in a boiling hot office with a cold!!) safely!!
