Live Long and Prosper OOTD

Hello campers I have finally managed to grab some time to take some photos and get an outfit post done- hurray vol-au-vents for everyone as Mark from The Hotel would say!!

Now before I get down to the business of the outfit I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who left such lovely comments on my blog, Twitter and Facebook from my last update. It really helped as I was in quite a dark place when I wrote that post and although I am feeling more chipper I still have a way to go, but all the comments meant the world to me so thank you.

Anyway back to the post in hand, I had the chance to do a sneaky bit of child free shopping at Merry Hill last week and decided to pop into H&M. I went in looking for a striped top but couldn't find one so had a general mooch. Whilst wandering round I accidentally stumbled across the plus size section- I say accidentally as it was hidden in a dark corner under the escalators! Also section is being a bit generous it was actually just three racks jammed full of random clothes! I did grab a few things to try on but none fitted right in fact the sizing was bizarre in that the bigger size of one trousers was smaller than the smaller size!!! It was disappointing especially given the overall size of the store and I really felt like it was their dirty secret section!!

In the end I actually bought a lovely top from the straight size main range as it was oversized and rather generous, I then wore it work on Monday to discover that one of my co-workers had bought the same top!!

Here it is........

H&M size large, Animal print, bbw size 22

I really do this love this top it is quite lightweight and generous enough that I can pop a vest on underneath for an extra layer. It is lovely and soft and will take me through to the warmer weather. I picked this up in a size Large but it does go up to an XL so despite being from the main range it is quite option for us plus size ladies.

I decided top pop on my Sugar and Vice Alien necklace in homage to the wonderful Leonard Nimoy who sadly passed away yesterday-Live long and prosper.

A Little Update

Hello I thought I would do a little life update as there have been a few changes in my personal life over the last couple of months.

You may have noticed that I am not posting as frequently as this has been mainly due to a lack of time. I am now working pretty much full time ( I was working 4 days a week before this) and at the moment by the time I get home it is too dark to take decent outfit photos!! I am hoping to get some sorted over the weekend as I have a few outfits I really want to share and I am getting frustrated at not being able to!
I do feel at the moment that my life is eat, sleep work repeat!

If you are a regular reader of my blog you may remember that my husband was made redundant last year but he did go onto find another job. Sadly at the beginning of January he had to make the very hard decision to leave the job he had as it just wasn't working out, so he is currently unemployed. To help make ends meet he is selling stuff on Ebay that he has collected over the years and that really no longer have room for and to be honest it is almost a full time job!!!

So where does this leave me and my little old blog? Well I'm still here you haven't gotten rid of me yet it may just mean that I can't post as often, due to juggling work, motherhood and general life!!
It also means that I have to budget carefully so buying new clothes isn't going to be happening as often but this will make me dig deep in my wardrobe!

I am hoping that as the days get longer and lighter that I can take some outfit photos when I get home from work as I do miss posting outfits! I really wanted to do some sort of outfit challenge over the coming months like I did last year (I did 30 days 30 dresses last year) but I might leave that until the weather improves and I need to think of something to do!

Anyway I just thought I would share with you all but needless to say I am always around somewhere if you want me!!

Simply Be Rosie Acid Wash Jeans OOTD

I have been on a bit of a quest recently to find some good skinny acid wash skinny jeans, especially since I missed out on grabbing a pair from Evans earlier this year in the sale.

I spotted the awesome Rachel from A Dress Is For Life in a pair from Simply Be and it was love at first sight!!! I have been trying not to buy anything as I wanted to pay my account off but after finding a discount code online and finding a local click and collect which meant free postage I made an order!!!

So here they are!!

Booty!!!

They are super high waisted they sit almost under my bra (partly due to how high waisted I am) so if you suffer with jeans gaping at the waist then these may be perfect for you. They feel like a huge denim hug as they fit very closely right down to the ankle. There is some stretch so I would advise to size down (I went for a 20) the fit around my waist is good and I don't feel like I need to hitch them up all the time!

I think Simply Be have pretty much nailed it with these jeans, and if money allows I may grab a pair in the darker colour and there is even an acid wash pink version which looks amazing.

I teamed these with a cheap t-shirt from Primark and my new Superdry trainers from TK Maxx which are so comfy!!

My current want is good basic t-shirts in size fat, I picked up the one I am wearing in Primark and for a size 20 it is not overly generous and a tad short for my liking. I am struggling to find good boyfriend style t-shirts to wear with jeans. ASOS Curve do have one but they have annoyed me by introducing a £3.00 postage charge unless you spend £20.00 so I have refused to by one from them!
I trawled round the shops yesterday and couldn't find anything that suited, they were either covered in butterflies (seriously stop with the butterflies already!!), had slogans on that I didn't like or were dipped hem!! ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Sorry rant over!! If you spot anything good then please point me in the right direction!!

Also enjoy a quick outtake as it started to hail as I finished taking photos!!

Unconditional Body Beautiful Part Two- The Bust

Hello and welcome to this months Unconditional Body Beautiful where we are talking about the bust!

I think it's fair to say that the first thing people tend to notice about me is my bust as at a size 38K it is quite hard to miss!

I have most definitely had a love hate relationship with my boobs over the years which started when I was quite young. By the time I came to start secondary school I was already wearing a bra and was one of only a few at that time. I was quite freaked out as I had always been a total tomboy! The boys used to ping my bra straps and I was teased by both girls and boys.

By my mid teens I was in a DD cup and was still so unsure of my body, I was still very tomboyish so this very feminine figure was rather alien to me and didn't fit the look I wanted!

As I got ready to start University I was measured at a local department store where I discovered I was a 30E! In those days there was little to no choice so I had one style of Triumph bra in black, nude and white!!! I wish I could go back in time to my younger self and make me aware of what an amazing figure I had!

Things got progressively worse during my twenties as I started to gain weight which made my boobs bigger and I grew to really hate them. I went to see my GP and asked for a breast reduction and after seeing a consultant was granted the go ahead. Due to a change in my personal circumstances I didn't end up going through with the operation.
I think one of the first breakthroughs was when Bravissimo started to open stores and suddenly I had access to more underwear than ever before. I also started to realise what a bad fitting bra looked like (I had probably worn the wrong size for years) and suddenly my boobs were no longer on my waist but up where they should be!!

Fast forward to now age 39 and with my boobs at the biggest size they have ever been somehow I have finally made peace with them!! I think this has been partly helped by having more underwear choices than in previous years as more retailers have embraced us larger busted ladies!! It also helps to have a husband who loves me just the way I am (he thinks I am really lucky to be so well blessed in the boob department!!!). I still have days when I get annoyed with them, which is mainly due to clothing not fitting right or the cost of my bras!!

What can I say they are a huge part of who I am and there are worse things to be known for than having big boobs!!!! (but there is a lot more to me than just this!!).

Anyway if you are still with me then enjoy some boobage!!

Brummie Parklife

Hello and Happy Valentines Day if you celebrate that sort of thing and if you don't then Happy Saturday!

So husband and I aren't really doing anything special for Valentines (well he is treating me to a take away later which makes me very happy!!) but we did decide to pop over to Cannon Hill Park today to get some fresh air and let Oliver have a run around.

Cannon Hill is a huge park on the outskirts of Birmingham City Centre (near Edgbaston Cricket Ground) and is good place to go when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It is also home to the MAC (Midlands Art Centre) where we sometimes pop for a coffee and cake.

I decided to give my camera its first proper outing today and put it through its paces so I apologise now as this post is going to be a bit photo heavy!

How cute is my rucksack!

I was laughing at something Oliver was doing!

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!
