Bloggers Talk Confidence

The lovely Anita from Plus Confidence In You has invited us all to post today about what makes us feel confident.

When I first started blogging I was still on a long journey to be comfortable and confident in my body and even now I still have days when I don't always like what I see in the mirror after I am only human!! Blogging is a great help as you are surrounded by so many fantastic people that even just a simple instagram picture of what you are wearing can make a huge difference!

As a blogger I try to push my boundaries and there have been a few outfits which show just how far I have come!

The crop top!

Yes I have a tummy but that doesn't mean I can't wear a crop top if I feel like it!!

I love this dress and yes I will admit I tend to wear it on my more confident days but whenever I do I feel amazing!

If ever you feel unsure or want some inspiration then look at the plus size blogging community where you will find the most amazing women in some killer outfits. I also find Tumblr is a fantastic place for body positivity at all sizes.

Anita is also organising a Plus Size Art Exhibition which is due to take place later this year, if you want to lend your support then you can go to kickstarter and pledge some money to help make this event happen https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1764174458/definition-of-size .

Introducing Fashiola

A brand new fashion search engine has just launched in the UK by the name of Fashiola, its aim is to allow shoppers to find lots of brands all under one roof. There is a good mixture of retailers including Clarks, Joseph, and Cloggs.

Now as a plus size blogger what made me excited was to see a whole section dedicated to plus size fashion. A quick mooch and I came across ASOS Curve, F&F True, and Forever 21 to name just a few. As I am limited in my options for high street shopping and therefore do the majority online, this is great as I can see what is on offer from a variety of retailers on one site.
So what else makes this site special I hear you cry well there were a couple of things that I liked.

1. Sale Alert- If you find something you like but decide you can't afford it at that moment you can set up a sale alert that will notify you when a price reduction has taken place.

2. Stock Alert- You find that killer dress but it is out of stock in your size, but with Fashiola you can save the item to your account and then receive a notification when it is back in stock. No more stalking at all hours to see if you what you want is available!

3. Search Facility- We are all used to being able to search by size, price etc but with Fashiola there are more options such as material, and discount options.

This is what they have to say about their UK Launch.

“We’re excited to have arrived to the UK and into such a strong online fashion market. We believe that there is a great demand here for our service and commitment to providing a fast, easy and unique shopping experience. The strength of our brand is evident in our fantastic fashion brand partners in the UK. There are thousands of online fashion shops, but how are shoppers able to search for a particular piece of clothing quickly online? We have solved this problem by giving a complete overview of all brands, prices, styles and availability of the goods in the correct size and for the best price in the market. We’re delighted to have expanded into the UK and know Fashiola is going to be a huge success with shoppers and fashion lovers here.”

Don't just take my word for it go and check them out!!

*Although I was given the information about this website I was not paid to write about them.

World Fashion with JD Williams

I was recently contacted by JD Williams and asked if I would like to put together an outfit in celebration of the football and take my inspiration from one of the countries who are playing.

I decided to base my outfit on the breton stripes of France and thought I would try and look as though I have just stepped off my yacht in the South of France (I wish!!).

These are so comfy

Without the belt
OK So my back garden is not quite the same and the only water I have seen today is rain but you get the idea!!!
I do like this dress but it is quite short I am only 5'4" and it is above the knee on me so I think for everyday wear I would pop some navy blue leggings underneath. The belt is a nice addition and actually fits which is great as often they are too small. I would also wear it without the belt as well, just because sometimes they cut me in half. I also like the fact that the arm holes cover my bra at the sides as so many sleeveless tops and dresses have arm holes that are cut too deep for me.
The shoes are awesome, they are from Lotus and are so comfy almost like wearing slippers, I think these are going to be seen on my feet a lot this summer!! They come in a couple of widths so great if you have wider fit, I chose the the E as although I have wide feet they aren't wide enough to fill the wider sizes if that makes sense!!!

Suits You

Hello and welcome to a brand new monthly challenge called Suits You which has been devised by the gorgeous Leah from http://www.thirtysomethingcurvyme.com/.

The idea is that each month we are assigned a fellow blogger to style an outfit for which is going to be great fun as we all have our own individual styles.

This month I am styling the fabulous Kitty from The Adventures of a Riot Grrrl.

I have had a good mooch through her blog to get an idea of her style which includes some beautiful 50's style dresses but also some really edgy outfits. I have tried to construct a look that I think she would look awesome in so here we go!!

1. Sequin Converse- not only are they converse but they have sequins on what is not to love!!!

2. ASOS Curve Denim smock dress- Perfect for the summer and I think Kitty would look amazing in this dress

3.  Black Heart Creatives Fiiiiineapple Necklace- who can resist a pineapple necklace and I know from reading her blog she does have a few BHC necklaces!

So there you have it my outfit choice for Kitty let's hope she likes it!!

Don't forget to check her blog and social media pages

Harry Fay Jewellery*

I think it is fair to say that I am quite the fan of jewellery (my day job is based in the jewellery trade) so when Harry Fay contacted me to ask if I would like to review one of their rings I was very excited!!

For a lot of us plus size ladies finding rings to fit can be a total pain but Harry Fay carry rings in a size G right through to a Z+4 which is an amazing range of sizes and not something that you see so readily on offer from other retailers.

I chose to try something from the Georgette range and here it is!!

It is a pink Cubic Zirconia with three smaller CZ's on each shoulder so gives a nice sparkle when the light catches it. As I already have a wedding band and engagement ring on my right hand for me I would wear this as a dress ring on my left hand but that is just my personal preference.

If you are looking for some sparkle to light up your hand then these rings are good value with most priced at £40 and under so great for those on a budget as we the ever rising cost of gold its nice to know there are alternatives out there.

*Gifted item but all opinions are my own

This was taken just after leaving the hairdressers and feeling like a new person!!

As it was my birthday on Saturday husband and I celebrated by having some drinks in our back garden whilst listening to some 80's tunes via internet radio!!

Shop Your Stash

Welcome to the Shop Your Stash Challenge. This is all about finding a gem in what you already own and creating a blog post on it. This is to let go a little of the stress that comes with being a blogger - even if it is just once a month. Rummage through your beauty products and climb through those clothes draws. You might surprise yourself!

For this months post I decided to dig out my wellies as they have never been on the blog and you know its not always about being glamorous!!

My husband very kindly treated me to a new pair for Christmas after my beloved Asda wellies split and went to shoe heaven or should that be wellie heaven!!! I love my wellies as I use them for gardening or when we go to the Lickey Hills during the wetter months.

So here they are!!

He got them from Amazon who when I looked had a decent selection of wider fit wellies, these hve the adjustable clip on the side and have plenty of room! OK so they are not Hunters but hey they are pink and I love them!!!

OMCZ #34

Hello and welcome to another OMCZ challenge and this time the theme has been chosen by the lovely Katt from A Curvy Cupcake .

As summer approaches and the days get warmer, I'm struck with the fear of getting my pasty white legs and the tops of my arms out. Apart from the obvious rudey parts, what areas of your body do you prefer to keep covered? Ladies, show me those white bits!

I have been having some body confidence wobbles just lately so decided that for this challenge I would push myself and grab one of my crop tops and get my tummy out!

Booty Shot!!

This is the first time I have gone near one of my crop tops from last year and I paired it with an old skirt from Peacocks and healthy dose of up yours and away I go!!! Yes I have VBO and my bum is bigger than it was but hey who cares! I think putting this outfit on today made me shove the confidence wobbles to one side and hopefully I can carry on!

So here it is...

I have tagged the fabulous Leah from Just Me Leah to have a go at this next, but if anyone fancies it but wants to see the questions written down then head over and see Vicky as she has them listed on her blog post.

I Feel Good

Hello and welcome to this months I Feel Good Challenge. Now I am going to be honest in saying that my confidence has been wobbling of great and I haven't been feeling as good. What I do when I feel like this is go back through my old blog photos and remind myself of how far I have come. I mooched through the photos on my phone and found one from last summer that I don't think I have ever used on the blog and it is one that captured a moment of total happiness and confidence in myself so here it is.

Before I started blogging this is not an outfit I would have gone out in but I did and didn't give two hoots if anyone stared!!!

I hope I can get back to feeling like this again and have another body confident summer!

Don't forget to check out the other ladies also taking part!

Simply Be Kaftan Maxi Dress

Hello and happy Friday and hopefully the sun is shining wherever you are!! Here it is lovely today so I thought I would share with you a dress I bought from Simply Be a little while ago when they had one of their discount promotions running!

You may well have seen this dress recently on Simply Be emails as it was featured as a part of one their latest blogger campaigns!

I am undecided about this dress I do like it but the neckline causes me problems as I am blessed in the boob area! It cuts quite low and the little piece that you see in the middle flaps around so when I sit down I feel like my cleavage is falling out the dress and I keep having to adjust it!! The dress is also quite thin and see through when the sun shines so this may be more suited to be worn as a beach cover up over your cossie!!

There is no denying that the print on this dress is amazing and I love the bright colours, it is also airy and light so would keep you cool in the hot weather.

I think I need to persevere with this dress and see if I can pop some stitches in the neckline or if not I will need to maybe wear a thin cami underneath.
