AX Paris Jewel Print Dress

Hello and happy Wednesday (or hump day if you prefer!), so today I finally have an outfit post as it feels like ages since I last did one!

You may remember a few weeks ago Simply Be had a flash sale on and the AX Paris Curve dress that I had been eyeing up was reduced to £25 from £45 I then managed to find an online discount code for more money off and free delivery so it ended up costing me just £20 including delivery!

I decided to size up twice and ordered a 24 as I had heard that this dress comes up quite small and that the fabric is quite thick and it's just as well I did! It is still tight and I do have vbo but it doesn't feel too clingy. The only downside of sizing up is that it has meant that the shoulders and arms are a bit big but once a cardi is on you can't see this.

I have to confess that I was going to return this dress as I wasn't totally convinced at first but forgot to send it back so dug it out last week! For such a glam dress it hasn't seen many glam locations yet, it has been to the local amusement arcade, ASDA and work!

The dress is still available through Simply Be but it has since gone back up to £35.

I think I shall have to persuade Mr S to take me somewhere glam so I can parade around in style!

Bank Holiday Day Out Part 2

So I had quite an eventful Bank Holiday Monday with a full day out you can read about the first part of my day here but today I have lots of photos from Avoncroft Museum.

The museum is home to over 25 historical buildings which have been brought there to be restored and maintained so that they could preserve pieces of the past, there is also a model railway you can ride on. My sons favourite part was the fantastic collection of old phone boxes which still work via the exchange they have on site and the lovely chap who was on hand to explain about how it all worked.

As it was Easter there was a Mad Hatters Tea Party taking place and a trail which if you completed it and found everything you won a creme egg!

So here are the photos (Sorry there are loads!!)
Where is the Doctor?

Mad Hatters Tea Party

This was my favourite as it was a post box/ telephone all in one!
The best cup of tea in the world!

The Orchard

The model railway

Hubby liked it there so much that he has asked for a season ticket for his birthday which at £48 for upto five people for a year is good value so we will be going back.

Bank Holiday Day out

Hello and sorry for the lack of posts this week but Easter holidays, combined with work have left me with less time to blog!

I thought I would share with you some pics from Bank Holiday Monday as we went out for the day, firstly to Webbs of Wychbold which is a massive garden centre (I love garden centres) and then on to the Avoncroft Museum which I will cover in a seperate post

Since I last visited Webbs they have put in riverside gardens which you can wander through and each section has a different theme.

Warning photo heavy post!

These were taken in the Fairy Garden

Secret trails and covered walkways

We then decided on impulse to go to the Avoncroft Museum as we were really close but I will do a seperate post for that one as there are loads more photos!

OMCZ #30

Hello and welcome to another OMCZ outfit, the theme this time has been chosen by the lovely Erin from Erins Little Big Corner and she chose...

"Blogging about fashion while living on a budget can be difficult. There is a lot of pressure to keep up with trends and be the first to display a relevant piece. Because it does not suit my finances or lifestyle to constantly purchase new items, I love creating multiple looks around one piece to really stretch the life of my wardrobe. I challenge all of you to create a 'One Item + Three Ways' look to either showcase an item through multiple seasons, or for multiple occasions."

I recently bought a pair of skinny jeans from Primark and have been wearing them non-stop so decided to use for this challenge and make three different outfits.

1. Ultra Casual

I actually wore this outfit on sunday to go and visit my parents for a lovely sunday lunch.

2. Smart Casual- think drinks in the pub with the girls!

I bought this top and cardigan last year but I don't think I ever got round to blogging them!

This is quite an old top that I drag out occasionally but I added some new bling (bought whilst I was waiting to meet Leah!!!) and my beloved wedges from last year.

When you are on a tight budget having a piece of clothing that you can use in different ways is a life saver and at £15 these jeans didn't break the bank!

Just Another Blogging Challenge

Hello and welcome to the April edition of Just Another Blogging Challenge, and the theme for this month is Spring Cleaning.

Now I am quite an untidy and at times unorganised person but I do love storage and finding things that should help me to be more tidy!

The other day I was wandering around in Primark and spotted a necklace organiser for £3 which I grabbed on the way to the till. My necklaces are forever getting in a tangle as I throw them all into a big box to store them so this is great.

Necklace hanger £3 from Primark
The only downside to this is that it is hung on the back of my bedroom door and whenever you open the door it bangs about so I may try and put a nail in the wall to hang it from.

I am glad I bought this as I came home from work today with a bag of necklaces which my friend at work wanted to re-home as she no longer wears them!

Don't forget to check out the other ladies also taking part.

Shop Your Stash

Hello and welcome to a brand new blog challenge which has been devised by the lovely Hollie from Pretty Big Butterflies.

Welcome to the Shop Your Stash Challenge. This is all about finding a gem in what you already own and creating a blog post on it. This is to let go a little of the stress that comes with being a blogger - even if it is just once a month. Rummage through your beauty products and climb through those clothes draws. You might surprise yourself!

So as you can see from the introduction the idea behind this new monthly challenge is to look through all the things we already own and put something together.

Like many other bloggers I have a wardrobe bulging with clothes but I always seem to favour the same outfits so it was great to have a spuddle through and see what I could find.

I decided to fish out this old top from New Look which I found on a sale rail in the January sales last year. This poor old top I loved it at first but then just recently on a few occasions it has almost found itself in the Ebay pile which lives in my bedroom! I gave it a last minute reprieve and wore it yesterday and to my delight found that I enjoyed wearing it!

Yours Clothing Swing Tunic

The seasons are finally on the change and we have started to have some warmer weather and for me that means digging out my trusty summer flats and leggings and moving away from tights. (Thanks to Primark for their fantastic 100 Denier tights which saw me through the winter!).

Thanks to the lovely Debz from I'm a Wannabee Princess I managed to nab a deal via Living Social the other day for a voucher to spend at Yours Clothing, the voucher was £9 but allowed me to spend £20 on Yours Clothing (just checked and the deal is no longer there :( ) so I had a cheeky spend.

I went with the Striped Swing Tunic as you know me I love a good swing dress/tunic!!! As you can see from the photos its longer on me than the model online but then I am only 5'4". I did size up which has made it quite loose as sometimes I need the boob room but to be fair it means it will be cool and comfortable during the summer months and is long enough that I could wear it without leggings.

I wore this outfit to work and was lovely and comfy all day so I hope it will be a regular feature of my summer wardrobe.
