Happy Friday everyone, I hope your week has been good- mine has a been a bit of a mixed bag! Started off well with seeing Depeche Mode at the LG Arena and then descended into migraines, toothache and a trip to the dentist where I have been told my tooth needs to be extracted under sedation!
Anyway enough about my week and onto the fashion as lets face it that is why I am here!! Like alot of other ladies I am always stalking ASOS looking for a bargain so I was rather happy when a dress I have been wanting for ages was reduced to £12.50 in the sale so I made it mine!!!
Here it is...
I do love this dress but my only gripe is the wonky pattern as you can see in the above photo which is a bit shoddy, if I had paid full price for this dress it would have been sent back but because it was reduced I can live with it. Its a good stretchy jersey so plenty of room for my boobs but I think that if you overstretched this it would go white so beware of that.
Overall I like the dress but it isn't as great in real life as I had hoped it would be but who knows it may be one that grows on me over time!!
Have you been disappointed with things that you have really wanted and when you get them they don't live up to your expectations?

OMCZ #25
Hello and welcome to the latest OMCZ challenge and the theme this time was chosen by me!! I decided to go with accessories- think statement necklaces and scarves so here is my take on the theme.
![]() |
Plain black swing dress from Asda as a plain backdrop |
I picked up this plain back swing dress from Ebay and decided it would be a good backdrop for a statement necklace as it shows how a good accessory can change an outfit. Both necklaces are from New Look.
Sorry for the less than stellar photos but work has been crazy this week and combined with a night out to see Depeche Mode and also a migraine I have struggled a bit this week!
Don't forget to check out the other fabulous ladies also taking part.

Weekend Adventures
Hello and happy weekend, I hope you are all have a great one wherever you are!
For a change today rather than do an outfit post I thought I would do a post about where we as a family often go at the weekend. As you know I live in Birmingham which is very urban but you don't have to travel far out from the city to find some fantastic countryside. I am very lucky to live about 20 minutes away from the Lickey Hills and if you follow my instagram you may see me spamming it at the weekend with forest landscapes and hill top views!
We decided to get some fresh air this morning (yes it is possible even in Brum!!) and headed off so here are some pictures from today- enjoy.
Its great for a good bracing walk the through the forest although you do need wellies or good boots a this time of year as it is really muddy in places! Oliver's favourite part of course is the park but my favourite is the cafe in the visitor center where we grab a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea afterwards!
If you want to know any more here is the link to Birmingham City Councils website .
Do you have a favourite place local to you where you can escape to?

ASOS Curve Lace Skater dress
Hello and happy Friday we made it through another week and for today's post I am doing a quick OOTD of a dress I found on Ebay.
A little while ago ASOS Curve had a fabulous lace skater dress which I saw quite a few bloggers wearing but I left it too late and they sold out in my size so I resigned myself to it being one that got away! You can imagine my surprise when I spotted one on Ebay last weekend and managed to win it for £9.00!
So here it is...
I went with a size 20 and I would say it is true to size and fits well, there is loads of room for my boobs and the elasticated part actually sits on my waist rather than right under my boobs. My only slight problem is with the sweetheart neckline as you can see the top of my bra but I am not too fussed as unless you look really closely it all blends together!
I decided to try something different and dug out an old pair of Clarks boots which I found in TK Maxx about four years ago! I don't wear them very often as my feet ache after awhile but I liked the contrast with the black.
I am loving Ebay at the moment as if you have time to mooch there are some quite good bargains to be found and a fair few bits from ASOS Curve can be found!
Enjoy your Friday!!

Glossybox January 2014
Hello and welcome to this months Glossybox review, which sadly is to be my last for awhile as I have decided to cancel my subscription for the time being. (I will explain in more detail later in the post).
Anyway here is this months box
This is not a brand that I am familiar with but I am looking forward to trying out as you can use it in the shower and also add it to a bath.
Slightly disappointed to receive this as although I like the brand (I have their brow kit) it is not something I would expect to receive in the box. I shall be interested to see what it is like as I have never tried a correcting cream under my foundation so we shall see.
This I am quite excited about as I have never tried Anatomicals before and although I don't have major problems with puffy eyes I shall still try these out.
I do think these are rather pretty as they have a floral pattern on them and even though I already own two pairs of tweezers another pair will come in handy to pop into my handbag.
Again another brand I have never heard of before (they are Japanese) but again I shall give it a try but I can't help but feel a bit short changed as they are both the same so more like a stocking filler!
So there you have it that is January's Glossybox and as I said before my last for the foreseeable future as I have decided to cancel my subscription partly due to needing to save money and partly due to not being that impressed with the last few boxes.
If I can afford to then I may re-subscribe to a beauty box service again at some point but it will be more likely to be Birchbox as I have heard people raving about how good their boxes are.
Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes or do you have any that you would recommend?
Anyway here is this months box

Russian Doll OOTD
Hello and happy Wednesday we are halfway through the week and to celebrate I thought I would share a quick OOTD that I wore to work yesterday.
I stumbled across this jumper on ASOS the other night but it is from New Looks Inspire Range and was in the sale for £11.50 it had to be mine as I have a great love of Russian Dolls!! I sized up to a 24 as I wanted a looser oversized look, it is really comfortable to wear and is slightly fluffy but not too heavy and thick so I don't start overheating. The skirt I bought a couple of weeks ago with a voucher I had from Christmas and again it is from New Look. I got a size 22 but I have to admit that the waist band could be more generous it is only elasticated at the back so isn't as stretchy.
Sorry for the photos not being better but I was knackered from work!!

Skirt New Look Inspire I have also seen the skirt on ASOS but it was still full price but New Look have it for £7.00!

Just Another Blogging Challenge
Hello and welcome this months edition of Just Another Blogging Challenge and the theme for this month is January Sales!
I have done quite well in the sales this year and there are still plenty of bargains to be had in fact I often find that if you hang on items often get even further reduced, so here are my picks from the sales.
I have to confess that I have just nabbed this dress in the sale for £12.50 (review coming soon) and I am really pleased with it.
Again I also nabbed these in the sale from New Look for £6.00 and I have been really pleased with them especially for the price.
I love the print on this dress and for £10.00 it won't break the bank.
I had to include this one as it is my favourite dress at the moment and at £10.00 a total steal, head to Pink Clove if you fancy trying this one.
