Black Heart Creatives

It has become a bit of a running joke now about the amount of necklaces I seem to have won since I started blogging so I was thrilled to find out that I had won again in a twitter giveaway from Black Heart Creatives!!

My very generous prize was to choose three necklaces which also included the option to have a custom one made so here is what I chose:

It had to be done!!!

I do love cake!

I love this dripping heart

I absolutely love them, I decided to have my blog name as my custom option and I have already had loads of people ask me about the Cake Queen necklace which has even been worn to work today!

So a big thank you to Black Heart Creatives and I think feel the need to purchase a few more!!!!

Style it Saturday

"Style It Saturday is a celebration of individuality which allows bloggers involved to showcase their own unique style. Each month there is a theme which we interpret to suit our styles and shapes, in order to share ideas and put our own imaginations to the test!"

Hello and welcome to the 2nd Style it Saturday Challenge. The theme for this month has been chosen by the lovely Beth from Tinkerbell and the Lost Girls and she went with 'Voluptuous Vixen'

I think it is fair to say that nearly all of us were really excited when we heard the theme and I decided to re-use a dress that has been on the blog before:

Sorry that the photos aren't better but I was struggling with the light and again I am still not feeling a 100% at the moment so not one of my better days!!

I used my one and only little black dress which I bought from TK Maxx a few years ago and went for high heels, black tights and lashings of red lipstick. I am wearing shapewear under this dress as I find it very unforgiving!!

Don't forget to check out the other fabulous ladies to see their take on this theme as I am sure there will be some amazing outfits on show!

Style it My Way

Hello and welcome to this week's Style It My Way, and the theme for this week is Day to Night.

Now I apologise in advance as I have been feeling a bit meh this week and seemed to have lost my way a bit so I am cheating with this post and using some photos from earlier this month as they feature the dress I wanted to use!!

This is currently one of my favourite dresses it is the Kaleidoscope Lace Dress from ASOS Curve I bought it to wear for my wedding anniversary and also for the evening part of Plus North. Here I have teamed it with flat sandals and my guest bag and added minimal jewellery for a more daytime look.

Here I am wearing it for the evening of Plus North and this time I added my Irregular Choice heels a New Look Necklace and Primark Earrings, I also had a clutch bag.

My Irregular Choice Heels!

I love this dress it is a swing style which I was worried wouldn't work on me but strangely it does and I find it really comfortable to wear.

It is still available at ASOS and since I bought mine it now comes in a wine colour.

The shoes can be found on Ebay I got mine from a small shoe shop in Birmingham and they were a lucky find!

Hopefully I will be back on track soon and doing some OOTD' s as I have some new autumn bits and pieces to show you.

Don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies also taking part in this challenge and if you would like to take part then head over and see Felicity for the details.

OMCZ

Hello and welcome to another OMCZ challenge and this week the theme has been picked by Rebs from Sullen Hearts and she chose:

I want to pick 'nightwear'! Let's see what you wear to bed, or flash us your naughty but nice undies, or show us what you'd wear for a good old fashioned sleepover.

Now I have to confess that I sleep in the buff but I wasn't going to stand here starkers as that is a whole different blogosphere!!! I do however own a onesie, and I know that they are like Marmite you either love them or hate them. I personally love them and I don't sleep in mine as I would boil alive I do lounge in it through the winter!

So here it is:

Yes you eyes are not deceiving you I have the cookie monster on my onesie and it says me love cookies!!! I have had this for about two years now and I bought it in Peacocks it was one of those I must have it moments!!!

So there you go that is me in my onesie, don't forget to check out the other fabulous ladies to see their take on this one who knows what they have in store for you!!

Winter Wish List*

So it would seem that summer is fast becoming a distant memory and our thoughts are all starting to turn towards Autumn with thicker clothes and snuggly coats.

So here is my picks for keeping warm inspiration for the coming colder months

ASOS Fake Fur Snood

One of the things I love about the colder months is layering up with scarves and this snood from ASOS just looks so cute and cuddly.

ASOS Curve Duffle Coat
I haven't owned a duffle coat in many years but after seeing this ASOS Curve coat I now have a real hankering to own one!

Excite Clothing Cable Knit Cardigan
I love the cosy look of this cardigan from Excite Clothing great over dresses, jeans etc.

Kurt Geiger Sargent Ankle Boots *
The one staple of a good Autumn/Winter wardrobe has to be a good pair of boots and at the moment the one thing I really want are some sturdy ankle boots which will take me from the school run to the office. I love these ones from Kurt Geiger and would team them with dresses and skirts to give an edge to my outfit and keep my feet warm!!! (I can't stand having cold feet!!!)

Pink Clove Tartan Skater Dress

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last month there is little doubt you will have heard of the new online plus size retailer Pink Clove. As soon as the site launched the first item that caught my eye was the tartan skater dress and I knew it had to be mine!!!

I was lucky in that I hung on before buying it which meant that the price then dropped from £30.00 to £22.00 and as soon as that happened the dress was mine!!

As this was my first order from Pink Clove I went with a size 20 as I had heard that the material was thick with some stretch and I have to consider room for my boobs whilst not having a dress that is too large everywhere else. I am pleased to say that the 20 is perfect enough room on top without totally stretching the top and a good fit around my waist. My only gripe was with the belt that comes with the dress is not very generous but hubby sorted this by punching an extra hole in it! (This is a common problem with plus size clothing where a belt is supplied).

Fatshion Necklace from my Scarlett and Jo Goody bag at Plus North

I have to say I love this dress and never thought I would be wearing tartan (the last time I did I was eight and wearing a kilt!!) I have already worn it to work styled as you see in the photos with plain black tights and my patent brouges from New Look which are about three years old.
You can also see that on me the dress is just above my knee which is great for me as I plan on wearing it with tights and leggings, I am 5' 4" so if you are taller than me then it will be more the length you see on the model online.

So far this is the only item I have bought from Pink Clove but there is plenty more which has caught my eye so I have high hopes for them.

If you like my dress it is still available Pink Clove.

Have you tried them yet and if so what have you bought?

6 Month Blogiversary

I suddenly realised a few days ago that my blog is now officially 6 months old!!! Now I know that in the world of blogging I am still quite the newbie but I am so pleased to have not only managed to actually start a blog of my own but to also keep it going!

Firstly I want to say thank you to everyone who stops by and takes the time to read, when I first started I honestly didn't think anyone would want to read what I had to say but I was wrong!
I also want to say thank you for all the wonderful comments I have been left not just on the blog but also via twitter, FB, Instagram and Tumblr they really make my day and I still get so excited when I see a new comment!

The world of blogging has also given me the chance to meet lots of amazing ladies who have very much been my inspiration and also an invaluable source of help and advice so to all the lovely ladies of the Plus size blogging community I salute you- as with out you all  there would be no blog!

I recently went back and looked at my early posts and I can see how far I have come since I started and how much my confidence has grown so I thought I would do a quick pictorial round up of some of the best moments so far from NattyNikki!

So these were the first outfit posts I ever did featuring my Praslin Skater Dress and Dorothy Perkings Peplum top.

Showing off my new haircut!

Finally embracing Animal Print in my Quiz Dress.

Showing the shrug some love with my first ever shrug from Excite Clothing.

My first Magnificent 7th Post and also my first ever blog challenge outfit!

The first ever Flash the Flesh post where I got my legs out!

More Flash The Flesh this time cleavage!!!!!!

The outfit that showed how far I had come the crop top and pencil skirt!

The ultimate confidence challenge to pose in a Fatkini!!!

Finally finding the confidence to wear bodycon dresses!

Finally because blogging means I have met amazing ladies such as Vicky from The Curved Opinion.

So there you have it I started this blog living in jeans and oversized tops and if you had told me that I would soon be wearing crop tops, a bikini and bodycon dresses I would have said don't be so daft!!

What has blogging done for you?
