Autumnal Style With Fashion World*

Hello it's time today to look at some fabulous pieces from Fashion World* which are perfect for the coming colder months.

Anyone who knows me will agree that I love a good cardigan as I love nothing more than layering up my clothes when the temperatures drop, especially as I am someone who starts off cold and gets warm later in the day!

If you are in the market for a new winter cardigan then look no further than Fashion World who have a wonderful selection that is sure to suit everyone.

I went with what is called a Kangaroo cardigan as I loved the curved edges and decent pockets and it is a good longer length so ideal over dresses and jeans.

I teamed this cardigan with a rather lovely shirt dress with a striking eyelet design and draw string waist. I sized up to a 20 in the dress as I was worried about it gaping across my top half but it is generously sized and with the drawstring waist I can nip it in so it doesn't look too oversized on me.
I am pleased to have found such a minimal style dress in a plus size as quite often this style of dress is only found in smaller sizes and best of all it has POCKETS!!I went for a size 16-18 in the cardigan and the sizing is brilliant it has plenty of room to manoeuvre and is a lovely soft material and I look forward to styling it with some of my skinny jeans and tops. Priced at £22 it won't break the bank and is going to be a staple of my wardrobe through the colder weather.
To finish of the outfit I chose a lovely burgundy handbag which I love it has a decent length strap meaning you can wear it across you or on your shoulder or just use it as a tote bag. It has quite roomy and easily fitted my purse. make up bag, phone and work paraphernalia that I have to carry around with me!!

Overall I think Fashion World have knocked it out of the park with their Autumn/Winter range for this year with some really stylish choices for the plus size market.

Hello October

Hello again I know it has been awhile since I last posted and it is now October, season of falling leaves, hot chocolate and of course Halloween!

As the seasons change so do my outfits and I wanted to share with you all a fab pinafore dress that I nabbed in Primark (they have a brilliant selection of them at the moment).

Even though I am 43 I still love a good pinafore dress as it reminds me of the navy blue cord one I used to wear when I was small (even then I loved them and that was alot for me as  I hated dresses when I was very young!!).

So firstly it has pockets- POCKETS all dresses should come with pockets! It is a lovely soft cord and doesn't feel restrictive when you move or sit down and I am pleased to say the buttons don't gape. I went for a size 20 and it has plenty of room I could have sized down but I have to fit my top half in and as you can see the bib doesn't really contain my boobs but then that is to be expected!!

I also picked up a top to go underneath which was a bargain £5 in an XL (they have new sizing and it is worth a look as some of the pieces are very generous in size). I have avoided these types of tops for years but took the plunge and I am glad I did!

Even my tights are Primark (100 denier) this year they seem to be much better made and don't fall down and are super long and very comfy and at £2.50 a pair well worth a try.

My trainers are from Everything Five Pound earlier this year and are so comfy for the price!

Have you found anything good in Primark lately- let me know!

Jumping for Joy

Well hello it's been awhile hasn't it sorry for being so quiet but the sadly the urge to blog hasn't been so strong of late, but that being said I do miss sharing my outfits so here is one I have been loving throughout the warmer weather.

Never let it be said that I don't hunt around for hours online for a bargain and one of my favourite places to look is Ali Express. After some hours researching (ok window shopping) I soon discovered that a lot of what you find on sites such as Ebay, Wish and Shein can also be found on Ali Express and is sometimes cheaper especially the postage costs.

A brand that I always look for is Zanzea as they tend to sell lots of loose lagenlook dresses and dungarees and the prices are always reasonable. I was lucky that when I finally committed to buying this romper/jumpsuit I had a coupon for $4 dollars to use!

The only downside is that you have to be prepared to wait for any items you order as it all comes from China but to be fair this turned up pretty quickly just don't wait too long when you get near to the seasons changing!

It is made from a lovely soft fabric and of course it has pockets!! I took a chance on a 3xl which according to the size chart was a size 20 and for me the fit is perfect as it doesn't cling but it also not too baggy. The straps have three holes meaning you can adjust the length to suit making it ideal for me as I am short in the body and find that straps that are too long slip off my shoulders.

I have worn this with vests and t-shirts underneath (all of which are the basic stretch ones from Primark- they fit brilliantly and are super stretchy in fact I size down to an 18).

My sandals that you can just see are old ones from New Look which I am embarrassed to say I forgot I had until I had a good spuddle through the bottom of my wardrobe but since I re-discovered them I have worn them loads.

This year has been the first one where I have actually tried both a playsuit and a jumpsuit or romper in the case of this outfit and I am sold I wish I owned more!!!

Sadly it seems that the weather is starting to shift so I think I need to make the most of this outfit before it is too late and it goes away for next summer!

Have you had any good bargains from Ali Express or is there anywhere else you suggest I try?

Sadly this just hasn't happened as work and life commitments have gotten in the way meaning my small corner of the internet gets a bit overgrown and neglected.

I do want to blog again as I miss sharing my outfits so for today I am going to cheat with a round up of my recent favourite outfits that I have posted on Instagram.

I hope you enjoyed this quick round up and hopefully I will be back very soon!!

Love 4 All Plus

Well hello it has been awhile since I last posted but today I want to talk about a new Plus Size Fashion brand who very recently launched.

Love 4 All Plus had been creating quite the stir on Instagram with sneak peeks of their new clothing line especially the starfish print dress. I was lucky enough to be asked if I would like to review something from their new range and I decided to try a top as I have recently re-discovered a love of jeans and need more tops to wear with them.

I chose to review the Suede Patches Jumper as I do like tops that have a bit of extra detailing on them and this has really cute suede patches on the elbows an button details down the sides. It is a lovely soft material and kept me very warm and cosy during the recent colder weather.

The advice for this top is to size up which I did meaning I am wearing this in a size 22 (I currently wear a size 20 in most tops) I'm glad I did as I had room to manoeuvre without it being too baggy.

In terms of pricing I would say it is on a par with most other plus size fashion places and I felt it was value for money.

From what I have seen so far I think this brand has the potential to do well especially with how popular the star fish print dress has been and it is always good to see a new PS brand as it means more choice for us!

Have you checked them out yet? If so let me know what you think!

Forever in Blue Jeans with Simply Be*

If there is one item of clothing that I struggle with it has to be jeans, and it would seem from talking to those around me that I am not alone in this! Finding good jeans is like finding the holy grail of clothing, so I was keen to try some pairs from Simply Be to see how they fit- so lets find out!

First up I decided to try their Lucy high waisted skinny jeans as I had never tried their own brand before. I love high waisted jeans as I am naturally high waisted so I tend to find this a much more comfortable fit for my shape.

These jeans tick all the boxes for me, dark coloured denim, high waisted, and stretchy which means I can sit down without them cutting me in half! I tried these out for my dress down Friday which meant a whole day of wear including public transport, walking and lots of sitting at my desk and they held up really well. They didn't lose their shape and go baggy as the day wore on and I didn't feel the need to keep tugging them up! They come in a variety of leg lengths and I am wearing the short fitting which means they don't bunch up around my ankles. I am wearing a size 18 and the fit is good, I could maybe have gotten away with a size smaller but I fear it may have been a bit of squeeze around my tummy. (The curse of having smaller legs but a bigger tummy means I always struggle with the fit).

Next up are the jeans that I was really excited to try- Levis 310 Super Skinny! I haven't worn Levis since I was about 18 and I lived in my trusty 501's, I have to be honest and say I didn't even realise that you could get Levis in plus sizes but I am very happy that you can!!

These jeans are a slightly lower rise which took a bit of getting used to as I kept wanting to pull them up and then nearly gave myself a wedgie!!! I took them for a spin around Birmingham and again they stood up really well, they didn't lose their shape and go baggy. As with the Lucy jeans these are a size 18 short fitting and my only gripe is that the ankle isn't as tight as I would like it to be but to get round this I can roll them up to make them ankle grazers. I maybe should have gone with the longer leg length and again I could have maybe sized down to the 16 but I may have found them too tight around my waist. The best part of these jeans is the booty! I love how they lift my bum and give it more definition and shape!!

So the overall verdict is that both pairs come really really close to being the ultimate jeans, I just think that due to my shape (which has changed and I am still figuring out what fits) I may never get a fit that is 💯 but these come very close and will be a staple of my wardrobe!

Winter Boot Round Up with JD Williams*

Hello and Happy New year to you all I hope so far 2018 has been kind to you!

The weather at the moment is quite frankly a bit on the chilly side (well it certainly is here in the UK!) so what is better than a lovely pair of warm boots to keep your feet toasty!

I have a fab selection from JD Williams on the blog today that will keep your feet warm and comfy throughout the colder months.

Lets kick things off with these funky cowboy style low suede ankle boots which come in both E and EEE fittings.

They have an elasticated ankle so are really easy to put on even for someone like me who can struggle with getting my feet into boots due to my high instep. I found these quite generous in fit and very comfy around my ankle and I can easily wear two pairs of socks inside for extra layers. The heel is low so they are ideal for a day on your feet. I wore mine with jeans but you could easily put these with a dress and tights.

Next up are a pair of grey ankle boots which really appealed to my inner student as I loved boots like these when I was younger! What I love about these are the fleece inner which keep your feet really warm! They also have a lovely spongy inner sole which makes them really comfortable for walking and a zip on the ankle, making them easier to put on. As with the other boots they also come in E and EEE fittings. The soles are cleated and have good grips which for me is great as I do struggle to stay upright sometimes!

Last but by no means least are a pair of gorgeous high leg boots in a wine colour, which again are also fleece lined meaning they keep not only feet warm but also your legs! These come in two different calf fittings-standard and super curvy as well as E and EEE fittings. I went for the E fit standard calf and for me the fit is spot on but if you want extra leg room then try the super curvy fit. I love the scalloped pattern and the wedge heel is high enough to give me some extra height but not too high so as to be uncomfortable to walk in.

I hope you like my picks, and if you are out and about in the cold then wrap up and keep warm!
