Blogtober 2014

Hello and welcome to another week on planet earth!

If you are a regular reader of my blog or follow me on Twitter you may have seen me mention my husband's redundancy which has now happened. Fear not he does have a new a job which is part time and I have increased my hours (we are having a role reversal) so it means I don't have the money to buy much in the way of clothes, but I don't want to neglect the blog and I think that most of what I own has now been on the blog leaving me worried about boring everyone!

I decided to try another blog everyday challenge, so I have sat down and made a list of themes for each day in October. Now if anyone would like to join in then please do, even if you just pick and choose what suits from the list. If you do take part then please let me know so I can pop over and read your posts.

So here is the list.

I do hope you enjoy my witterings throughout October and please feel free to join in!

Fatshionologie - Second Hand

Hello I am back!! Sorry for the quietness on the blog this week but it has been a busy time in my personal life and I have had little time to blog but I am back today with an outfit post!

I was very pleased to see that the lovely Becky from Does My Blog Make Me Look Fat  had brought back the Fatshionologie monthly challenge and this time turned it into a blog hop. The theme for this month is second hand which has given me an excuse to show you a fab dress that I found on Ebay.

Boohoo Swing Dress BBW plus size size 24

I stumbled across this lovely Boohoo Daisy Print Swing Dress on Ebay and ended up getting my hands on it for £10 including postage which I thought was quite reasonable.
This is a size 24 and the fit for me is perfect as I had heard that some Boohoo pieces can come up smaller so I took a chance. It has plenty of boobage room which means I don't lose the swing shape of the dress trying to squeeze my boobs in!!!

If you fancy taking part there is still time to join in this month if you pop over to Becky's blog you can link up once your post is live. Here are the themes for the coming months.

Suits you Katt!

Hello and welcome to this months Suits You challenge where this time I am styling the awesome Katt from A Curvy Cupcake .

I love Katt's style as she is not afraid of bold patterns and bright colours so with this in mind here is the outfit I have put together for her!

As soon as I saw the Modcloth dress I knew it had to be included as Katt is a quite the fan of a good galaxy print! I thought the brogues and simple accessories would let the dress stand out and give the outfit some edge!

Shop Your Stash

Hello and welcome to this months Shop Your Stash blog post.

I have reached the time of year when I am now starting to dig deep in my wardrobe to find my autumnal clothes. I was mooching through this morning and remembered the tops I bought in Primark last year (or possibly the beginning of this year I can't quite remember!!) so decided to throw one on!

Primark Dorothy Perkins Size 20 Skinny Jeans BBW

I think I have about four of these tops in various colours as I loved them so much I went on a binge buying session! I am pleased to say that despite being less than a tenner each they are still going strong and should be a regular feature of my wardrobe over the coming months.

I have had a bit of strange day as we headed into Birmingham and discovered the annual Chilli Festival was on so went and had a look. This then led to me doing some salsa dancing- not how I thought I would spend my saturday!
Here is a quick snap of me dancing.

Jump for My Love

Hello and happy Friday, yes that's right we have made it to the end of another week! It has been a bit grey and rainy here today, which at times has made me feel a bit meh almost beige, so I decided to do what any sane person does- throw on a super duper casual outfit and jump around in my back garden!

I seem to be having a run of luck at the moment in the winning things department, you may remember I won an outfit from Pink Clove via a Facebook giveaway well guess what I won something else from them as well!! They featured me on their FB page as part of their Pink Clove Passion and as I managed to get over 100 likes on my photo I got to choose a sweatshirt from their new range!

So here is my uber casual Friday lounging around the house look!

I #LOVE this sweatshirt and as I also love hashtags I thought this was very appropriate for me! I decided that rather than just team this with leggings or jeans I would throw it on over a jersey dress which I had been wearing all day for a different look.  The result well yes it may not grace the catwalk but I like it and it is so comfy!!
I sized up and went for a 24 as I wanted an oversized slouchy feel but it isn't as generous in sizing as I would have liked and has quite a tight band round the bottom which I have been trying to stretch!! The only bit that is oversized on me are the sleeves which are very generous and come down over my hands!
I also want to sing the praises of the Aldi leggings that I am wearing, they are so good I have worn them to death and they still refuse to bobble between my thighs and wash really well. I just hope and pray that Aldi bring them back again as another special buy as I really want another pair and at £4.99 they are fab value.

Autumn Floral OOTD

Sorry for being a bit quiet on the outfit post front but as I have increased my hours at work  I am home later and  I have been so knackered of a night that I haven't had the energy to blog- sorry!!!

I have been desperate to share a fab dress that I bought from Dorothy Perkins about two weeks ago after winning a voucher from the lovely Natalie in her blog giveaway.

I have given in and started wearing tights to work again this week so decided to wear my new dress and my funky new Primark brogues.

Dorothy Perkins Floral Skater Dress size 22 bbw fat girl

This dress is grey but due to the light ended up looking more purple!

I am no stranger to a good skater dress so when I spotted this one on Dorothy Perkins website I decided to make it mine!! I was chuffed to find that the weekend I decided to order it they were doing a 20% off offer so that made it even better! I
For me this dress is perfect to take me into the colder weather as it has longer sleeves which is unsual for this style of dress. I also love the v-neck as opposed to the scoop neck and it doesn't cut too low so very work appropriate! The dress is also pleated around the waist which I don't mind as it balances out my top half.
The shoes I adore I found them last week in Primark and knew I had to take them home as a cheeky purchase. I love brogues and these are really chunky so great for the colder weather as I hope they will keep my feet nice and dry!

Again I apologise in advance if I am not around as much, but with husband being made redundant at the end of next week and me working more hours I have a lot to be getting on with but never fear I am not going anywhere!

I Feel Good

Hello and welcome to this months I Feel Good post!!

The photo I have chosen this time was taken on a Friday morning where I hadn't been feeling great- you know those mornings where nothing in your wardrobe inspires you and everything you put on annoys you!!
Normally when I feel like that I grab some jeans and a top, shove them on and go but this time I decided the only way to snap myself out of this mood was to wear something truly fabulous!

The response on Instagram when I posted this outfit was amazing and made me feel so much better after a very shaky start and so I went off and strutted my stuff round Birmingham!!

OMCZ #38

Hello and welcome to another OMCZ challenge, the theme this time has been chosen by the lovely Gillian and she went with..

Saturday afternoon drinks.

So we have all done it gone out for a few quiet lunchtime catch up drinks with friends that then leads into the wee small hours. I thought it would be good to see what you guys come up with for a casual day time but also versatile enough to stay out for a nite on the town. What bling would you team up with your outfit?

I apologise in advance as due to changing my hours at work I haven't had time to take a new photo for this challenge so I am cheating and using an outfit that has been on the blog before as it for me it fits the theme!

I love this outfit and I think you can't beat a good kimono jacket to take you from day to night, complete with some neon bling and you are good to go!!

Wrapped Up with Yours Clothing*

I was contacted by Yours Clothing and asked if I would like to review and style a lovely Knitted Wrap* from their new season collection.

I must admit that this one item of clothing that I have never owned so I was keen to see how I could style it with my favourite skinny jeans.

So here is how I wore it...

It is lovely and soft, almost like walking around in a snuggly blanket so would be great for chilly mornings when its not quite cold enough for a winter coat but you need an extra layer of warmth.  The wrap is quite long and comes down quite far on me but I am only 5' 4" so if you are taller this will still be a decent length on you. It is a one size fits all job and to be fair its very generous in fit so should cover a good range of sizes.

I'm a Winner OOTD!

If you follow Pink Clove on Facebook you will no doubt have spotted that they run weekly giveaways of outfits from their current collection. I have entered numerous of these over the past few months and finally won something about two weeks ago!!!

So here is what I won!

I was lucky enough to win a babydoll tunic top and a pair of navy leggings which made me very excited!!!

I'm really pleased with what I won, the tunic is a lovely soft stretchy jersey, its elasticated  under the bust and ties at the back so it doesn't end up too baggy around your middle. These are the first leggings I have ever tried from Pink Clove and you know me always on the search for good leggings and these don't disappoint and I am now tempted to buy some black ones.

Thank you to Pink Clove as I love this outfit and don't forget to check them out on Facebook as they tend to do about three different competitions every week so there are lots of chances to win!

Bakerdays Letterbox Cake Review*

I was recently contacted by Bakerdays and asked if I would like to review one of their letterbox cakes, and as it has been my wedding anniversary this week I thought it would be nice to celebrate with some cake!!

If you aren't familiar with Bakerdays they offer an online service to order cakes for all sorts of occasions including a letterbox size cake which makes a lovely present or surprise to send to someone.

So here is the cake I chose.

I love the tin that the cake comes in which means it is kept safe whilst in transit and you have a little storage tin once the cake is eaten!

There are even instructions and a tab to help you remove the cake from the tin.

Most of the cakes can be personalised and if I had wanted I could have even sent a photo to have been put on the cake but I loved the little birds on this cake so just had our names added!

There was even a bag inside the box with balloons and candles which is a nice touch.

The true test is the taste and I am really pleased to say it did not disappoint the cake was a lovely rich chocolate and went down a treat in our house (my seven year old son was a huge fan!!).

I was also pleased to see that there are several options for the filling including dairy free and gluten free which is ideal if you have allergies. The ingredients are also listed on the bottom of the cake so you know what you are eating and the cake was lovely and fresh upon arrival.

Not only do Bakerdays have a fab range of cakes they also offer cupcakes which again can be personalised depending on the occasion.

Overall I have to say I am very impressed and for me I think this makes a nice change to sending flowers as you can personalise what you send and after all who doesn't like cake!!!

Now please excuse me whilst I finish the rest of this cake with a nice cup of tea!!
